JCTLM Workshop on Reference Materials and Reference Measurements Systems 2026

The Joint Committee for Traceability in Laboratory Medicine (JCTLM) Workshop: Reference Materials and Reference Measurement Systems will be hosted by the Nicolaus Copernicus University in Torun, Collegium Medicum in Bydgoszcz, Poland.

This is a 2 day workshop with Day 1 focusing on High-Priority Reference Materials for Traceability in Laboratory Medicine – Filing the Gap and Day 2 on Establishing Metrological Traceability to International System of Units (SI) for Serum and Urinary Albumin Measurements. This workshop will be attended by Weqas’ Gemma Brett.

Gemma Brett

HCS Practitioner Advanced (Research)
Gemma Brett is the Senior Scientist in the Weqas Reference Measurement Laboratory, with over 15 years’ experience using analytical techniques such as chromatography, mass spectrometry and UV-vis spectroscopy primarily for research and development. Gemma’s primary role at Weqas is to develop and validate reference measurement methods in order to assign traceable analyte values for calibrator, QC and EQA material used within Laboratory Medicine. Gemma is also responsible for measurement and equipment troubleshooting and maintaining oversight of reference measurements being undertaken.
