Abbott i‑STAT User Network Meeting

Weqas were invited to give a series of presentations at their i-STAT User network meetings this year. The first (17/04/2026) was provided by Ceri Parfitt with this week’s provided by Gareth Davies. These events bring together i-STAT users from acute, community, and pre hospital settings to learn, share best practice, take part in a hands on workshop. Gareth will be presenting on The importance of point of care quality assurance.

Deputy Director
Gareth Davies is the Deputy Director, Principal Biochemist and Research and Development Manager at Weqas with over 15 years experience in Laboratory Medicine. Gareth is responsible for new programme development and provides EQA interpretation, support and troubleshooting. He is a member of the National Clinical Biochemistry Audit Group and All Wales Clinical Biochemistry Audit Group, and a member of the ACB Pre-Analytical Phase Special Interest Group (ACB PA SIG).
