Weqas 2025 – A Year In Review

We have had one of our busiest years in 2025, both attending and hosting events. A few of the highlights include hosting our first separate Laboratory and POCT Conferences, as well as trips to United Arab Emirates, Ireland, Belgium, USA, Netherlands, Kenya and France.

Events Attended

Weqas Annual Conferences

This years Laboratory Conference in June and POCT Conference in December were a great success, with both events taking place in Cardiff. In total there were three full days of fantastic internal and external speakers, educational workshops and some insightful EQA discussions.

Weqas Team Building

All the staff here at Weqas took part in a team building day on Thursday 8th May 2025. This day was organised by our fantastic Wellbeing Team with the help of EML Team Building and was comprised of various activities including a morning of team building challenges, a lunchtime walk around a local reservoir led by a park ranger, finishing with a ‘Race across the world’ team game in the afternoon.

CCAK Workshop

In November this year Weqas Director Annette Thomas was invited to Nairobi, Kenya to share her expertise with the attendees of the CCAK’s workshop on Laboratory Quality Assurance. This was a joint workshop run by the Clinical Chemists Association of Kenya and the IFCC Task Force on Global Laboratory Quality (TFGLQ).
